From Curbside to Office Side

Welcome to the very first post of My Jennarocity Designs! My furniture redo/décor blogs were starting to overtake my personal blog and thought there needed to be a space where I can separate the two.

I've had so many people send me memes lately about picking up trash off the curb, mainly this one I've seen a couple times...

I never thought that would be me, but lately, it really has been. I've called my wonderful husband twice in the last month to come meet me and help load something I've found. I have a good guy to do it.

This one wasn't too bad of a drive, it was in my own neighborhood.

This desk was sturdy so I wasn't concerned about that, but it had a lot of stickers on it and the keyboard drawer stuck when you pulled it. I was planning on removing it from the moment I saw it, so that wasn't an issue.

When it comes to design, I'm not really sure where the inspiration comes from. In this case, I bought chalkboard paint for a project in Avery's room and thought it would be neat to paint the top as a chalkboard. I purchased the gray paint for another project as well, and I had the stencils from my dining room redo. This is what it looks like now!

To distress or not to distress? That is the question. In this case, the chalkboard paint on the drawers looked great a little roughed up and the white showed through really pretty, so I went ahead and did a little. It turned out great! This was a piece I sold, and the new owner is very happy!
